Start a Discovery FlightWhere will my discovery flight go?
Because airspace and weather conditions vary, your Discovery Flight route may not always go exactly where you expect — but you can count on an incredible view. Most Discovery Flights include a scenic tour of the local area and give you plenty of time at the controls under the supervision of a certified instructor. Your instructor will select a route that keeps you safe and maximizes your time in the air.
What to Expect on Your Discovery Flight
A Fun and Memorable Experience
At Skyfarer Academy, we’re here to help make your first step into aviation exciting, comfortable, and stress-free. Your instructor will walk you through every step of the process, answer your questions, and make sure you feel confident before takeoff.
Flying in a Small Airplane
Training aircraft are smaller than commercial airliners — which means you’ll have a front-row seat to the action and the best view in the house. All aircraft meet FAA safety and maintenance standards and are equipped with required safety features like seat belts and emergency equipment.
Your Discovery Flight
After a preflight inspection to ensure the aircraft is airworthy, you can decide how involved you’d like to be. Some students prefer to simply enjoy the ride, while others get hands-on time with the controls during taxi, takeoff, climb, and cruise — all under the guidance of a certified instructor.
